From June 27 to July 1, the Oceans 2022 Conference is being held in the city of Lisbon, Portugal.

The Day of the Seafarer was established by resolution at the 2010 Diplomatic Conference in Manila to adopt the revision of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW).
Since 2005, every June 21, World Hydrography Day is celebrated, a date promulgated by the United Nations - UN to raise awareness of the discipline of hydrography and the role it plays in generating greater knowledge of the seas and oceans.
