THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE IMO MEMBER STATE AUDIT SCHEME (IMSAS)
Following the introduction of the Voluntary IMO Member State Audit Scheme (VIMSAS) adopted in 2005, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) moved towards the adoption of a mandatory audit scheme, which was implemented starting in 2016 with the aim of determining the extent to which Member States are effectively fulfilling their obligations and responsibilities under IMO treaties.
PORT SECURITY IN THE REPUBLIC OF ARGENTINA
Since the implementation of the ISPS Code, the Prefectura Naval Argentina has fulfilled the roles of Administration and Designated Authority, in order to comply with the obligations undertaken by our country, as a State Party to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, SOLAS; and, since then, ensuring maritime and port security has become one of the strategic objectives of the Institution.
LOGISTICALLY SPEAKING
2021, 6 months of constant changes for a sector that generally is not static and that changes can be a familiar dish.
The pandemic came to modify what we knew as usual, that if there were any changes in itineraries, costs and routes it was normal but it would not be the usual.
In this first half of the year we discovered that we are more accustomed to logistical changes due to the latest events that we are suffering day by day.
PARADIGM-BREAKING: HOW TO MOVE FROM PLAN TO ACTION
Over the years we have seen with pleasure and pride, how the issue of inclusion has transcended one of the traditionally male sectors, I am referring to our beloved maritime-port sector. There have been many initiatives from different spheres: governmental, regulatory or private, among others, all focused on empowering women and recognizing their great contribution.
