April 14 | DAY OF THE AMERICAS, LATIN AMERICAN INTEGRATION AND IDENTITY
Every April 14, the countries of the continent commemorate the Day of the Americas, a date established in 1931 as a symbol of unity, sovereignty, and cooperation among the nations of the Americas. This celebration invites us to recognize what unites us: a shared history, a diverse identity, and a deep sense of belonging to this common land.
Latin America is a region privileged by its geography and natural wealth. Surrounded by three oceans and numerous seas, it is home to an extraordinary diversity of marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Its extensive coastlines and variety of climates allow us to experience everything from tropical landscapes to the cold waters of the southernmost regions, reflecting the breadth and complexity of our territory.
For Red MAMLa, this commemoration has a special meaning. Our network brings together 19 Member States: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and Venezuela, with whom we share a common vision of development and collaboration.

Through joint work with their Maritime Authorities, we promote initiatives aimed at creating more and better opportunities for the comprehensive development of women in the maritime sector. This commitment seeks to project the Latin American identity to the world, strengthening a more inclusive, sustainable, and representative industry.
The path is not without challenges, but each step forward brings us closer to a more balanced future for our region.
On this day, we pay tribute to our Member Countries and their ongoing efforts to protect the seas—true routes of connection that carry not only goods, but also culture, identity, and aspirations. In every journey, Latin America reaches out to the world, sharing its richness and spirit.
Today we celebrate who we are and renew our commitment to what we want to build.
Happy Day of the Americas!
