IMO UNVEILS NEW LOGO AND VISUAL IDENTITY
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) officially announced the update of its logo and visual identity during the 34th session of the Assembly, held from November 24 to December 3. The presentation was made by the Secretary-General of the Organization, Arsenio Domínguez, who emphasized that this renewal reflects the IMO’s modern vision and its commitment to the current challenges facing maritime transport.
During the closing of the Assembly on December 3, the Secretary-General emphasized that the new design “embodies the Organization’s ongoing commitment to safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly maritime transport, as well as to cooperation among Member States to protect people and the planet.”
The visual update is inspired by the historic emblem adopted more than seven decades ago, preserving essential elements of the institutional legacy—such as the world map, olive branches, and anchors. The modernized design places the ocean at the center, underscoring its strategic role in the international maritime agenda.
The new IMO logo will be available in the six official languages of the United Nations, thus reaffirming the Organization’s universal vocation and its commitment to inclusive and consistent communication among all Member States.
