VII GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF RED MAMLa: REGIONAL COOPERATION, LEADERSHIP AND A SHARED VISION FOR THE FUTURE
The Network of Women of Maritime Authorities of Latin America (Red MAMLa) successfully held its VII General Assembly, within the framework of the commemoration of its eighth anniversary (2017–2025), reaffirming its commitment to strengthening women’s leadership and regional cooperation in the maritime sector.
In-Person Session – Ecuador
The first session was held in person at the facilities of DP World Ecuador in Posorja, providing a space for dialogue, reflection, and strategic planning for the Network.

The event began with welcoming remarks and the official opening of the session by the President of the Consultative Council of Red MAMLa, CC Macarena Cladera, followed by an institutional message from the International Maritime Organization (IMO), delivered by Carlos Salgado.
During the session, the Drafting Committee was established, led by the Director of the Legal Committee, Magdalena Santos. The Red MAMLa Strategy was also presented by the General Coordinator, Michelle Arrocha, together with the President of the Consultative Council.
Key management reports were also presented, including those of the Presidency – CC Macarena Cladera; the Vice Presidency – PR Valeria Rodríguez; and the General Coordination – Michelle Arrocha.
The updated Red MAMLa website was also presented by the Network’s Editor, Lissette Moreno, reaffirming the commitment to institutional communication and regional visibility.

Subsequently, the presentation and swearing-in of the new Executive Committee for the 2026–2027 term took place, composed as follows:
- President: Magdalena Santos
- Vice President: Camila Almari
- Committee on Foreign Relations and International Cooperation: Michelle Arrocha
- Legal Committee: Raquel Soto
- Social Committee: LTJG Josephine Vásquez
- Mentoring Committee: PR Fernanda Ucciani
- Communications Committee: Dayanis Escorcia
- Technical Maritime Affairs Committee: LTJG Carolina Pacheco / Mildred Pacheco
- General Coordination: Farash Duarte

The day also included a message from the President-Elect, Magdalena Santos, as well as the presentation of tokens of appreciation to the outgoing Executive Committee, led by the current President, CC Macarena Cladera, in recognition of their leadership and commitment.
Complementing the first day of the Assembly, DP World Ecuador presented its organizational overview and Gender Program, reaffirming its commitment to equity and inclusion. The meeting concluded with the signing of a Letter of Intent for Strategic Cooperation between DP World Ecuador and Red MAMLa, strengthening institutional ties.

Virtual Session – December 2025
The second part of the VII General Assembly was held virtually from December 16 to 19 via the Meets platform, bringing together women leaders from the maritime sector across the region.
The agenda included:
- December 16: Presentation of Management Reports from each Member State
- December 17: Keynote Conference commemorating the 8th anniversary of Red MAMLa and Official Launch of the new Website
- December 18: Review of the Statutes
- December 19: Review of the Regulations
The VII General Assembly concluded with closing remarks from the outgoing President, Macarena Cladera, who highlighted the strength achieved by the Network, the value of collective work, and the importance of the bonds forged throughout this process.
In her remarks, she emphasized that Red MAMLa is more than an organizational structure; it is a community of women committed to transforming the regional maritime sector through cooperation, professionalism, and service, leaving behind a strengthened Network under new leadership ready to move forward with vision and purpose.
