SUBREGIONAL WORKSHOP ON IMPLEMENTATION OF IMO INSTRUMENTS

Within the framework of the Consultancy for the International Maritime Organization (IMO), our Honorary Members, Carolina Riesco (Chile) and Paula Grillo (Argentina), are conducting the Subregional Workshop on the Implementation of IMO Instruments in National Legislation in the Countries of Central America and the Dominican Republic, from December 9 to 13, 2024 in San Salvador, El Salvador.

This event, organized by COCATRAM and IMO, brings together representatives from Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Panama. Its main objective is to strengthen the capacities of the legal advisors of the Maritime Authorities of these countries, providing secondary legislative drafting tools for the correct implementation of the IMO international instruments that have already been ratified, but have not yet been integrated at the national level.

During this week, the creation of the Network of Legal Advisors of the Maritime Authorities of Central America, which will develop the Work Plan for the years 2025-2026, was also finalized, marking a milestone in regional collaboration for the effective implementation of international maritime regulations.
