PROGRAM OF INTERNAL TRAINING: 2ND ONLINE WORKSHOP

Continuing with the training program for members of the Association, yesterday, October 21, the second virtual workshop was held through the Zoom Platform.

On this occasion, the permanent and alternate representatives of the Association learned about the Global Integrated Maritime Information System (GISIS).

The training was conducted by T1° LT Carolina Pacheco Erices, member of the Maritime Technical Affairs Committee, who firstly referred to the IMO's Strategic Plan, in relation to ensuring regulatory effectiveness through the improvement of rule-making processes and the exchange of information with Member States and the maritime-port sector.

The Global Integrated Maritime Information System (GISIS) is a virtual platform whose main objective is to allow online access to information provided to the IMO Secretariat by Maritime Administrations. It is composed of several modules that include information on topics such as: Maritime Safety, Recognized Organizations, Marine Casualties and Incidents, Pollution Prevention Equipment, Local Regulatory Information, among others.

The training ended after the participants took a virtual tour through the Platform.
