6 LATIN AMERICAN WOMEN AMONG THE 100 MOST OUTSTANDING WOMEN IN THE MARITIME SECTOR IN 2022
The announcement was made by the Digital Media "All About Shipping", who, from a universe of 1,350 participants, selected the 100 women who during 2022 had a remarkable participation in the various fields of action in the maritime, port and logistics sector.
According to this media, the selection of the 100 most outstanding women was not an easy task, as the competition was "...high level, but friendly".
It also noted that working in the maritime sector "...is a real challenge, for women who work mostly from home, coping with business and, at the same time, caring for and looking after children - some very young - and supporting other members of their families, either on board or ashore...".
It was also noted that, among the participants from different corners of the globe, all of them are performing impeccably in various sectors of the maritime industry. They also highlighted that the participation of Central and Latin American voters in supporting their candidates was extraordinary, placing six Latin American women on the list of winners. They are:
- Ranking # 6: Elvia Bustavino, lawyer. Deputy Administrator & Vice Minister of Maritime Affairs of the Panama Maritime Authority, Panama (Ranking 2021 - No. 9).
