MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENCY - WOMEN IN MARITIME INDUSTRY DAY

"As President of Red MAMLa it is a pleasure to join you on the International Women in the Maritime Day, date in which we commemorate all women in the maritime, port, logistics and fishing industry and the students who are involved in these careers and promote discussion on the great opportunities we have as a society to consider gender equity in this professional and personal exercise.

In the same way, I would like to invite each and every one of you to take action to implement initiatives that can generate real changes in our workplaces and families, the bases where we can build a coexistence based on respect and equal opportunities for all.

From our association we will continue to promote education, visibility, leadership, recognition of capabilities and sustained employment of all women linked to the sea. The actions that we have carried out in Red MAMLa have always been framed in Strategic Alliances, therefore, as the IMO celebrates this day with the slogan "Mobilizing Networks for Gender Equality", it is another proof that our strategy based on collaboration has been one of our success factors.

Thank you to our 19 Member States, our more than 10 Strategic Allies, and our membership for taking action and working hand in hand for an inclusive industry.

Celebrate with you that this 2023 for the first time, Red MAMLa participates at the IMO Headquarters, in the World Conference of the 8 Regional Women's Maritime Associations, where we will continue to strengthen our purpose as an Association, to have a sustainable and equitable industry free of obstacles for all people who want to be part of it.

Congratulations to all MAMLas, to all the women who are part of this important industry around the world, especially those who work in Latin America, the Caribbean, the Antilles, the southern corner of South America.

It is our day, Women in Maritime Day".
