AAPA LATINO WILL DEBATE ON FINANCING PORT WORKS AS A DRIVER OF RECOVERY IN THE INDUSTRY

The Panel led by expert Juan Duarte will bring together regional banking representatives to review how the search for investment sources will have favorable impacts to boost the sector.

One of the high points of the next AAPA Latin American Delegation Ports Congress, to be held from November 28-30 in the Brazilian port of Santos, will be its intense and powerful agenda of conferences and lectures.

More than 50 world-class speakers from academia, terminal and port management, consultants and executives from international organizations will be part of this program that will address the major issues that will define the course of the industry - in a post-pandemic context - in the coming months and years.

A key topic in the thirtieth edition of AAPA LATINO 2022 will be port financing and how the search for sources of investment -with medium and long-term instruments to support the development of logistics and maritime infrastructure- appears as a driver for the recovery of the sector.

"Smart Financing for Strategic Growth" will be led by Juan Duarte, Managing Director of Duaga and global expert in strategic growth and financing of port works, who will discuss with executives from the main banks in the region in order to identify recommendations and suggestions for the sector's stakeholders.

The current scenario of health, economic and geopolitical disruptions forces, according to this prominent consultant, "to strengthen planning, measurement and strict monitoring of all our operations, financial statements and the execution of objectives", as a way "to give a little more certainty at a time of uncertainty".
Hence, the topic that he will review in the framework of AAPA LATINO will be of interest not only to representatives of ports and terminals, but also logistics service operators, maritime services and other areas of the industry, given that whatever the magnitude of the works to be financed or the line of business of a company within the industry, it is relevant today to promote "initiatives that generate greater value to our customers and our employees who are our main asset".

Regarding his participation in the Santos meeting, Duarte said he was proud to be part of "the most important event of the continent in our industry, where all the decision makers of our sector meet", and that together with the panelists of his talk he hopes to provide updated and different information to all the port leaders who attend so that it can be useful in the definition of future strategic paths.

"The bet for this year is to tell something that is needed: how we finance our business through smart financing, which is the set of short, medium and long term operational and financial actions that we can drive. This will give a new vision to the attendees of AAPA LATINO, which is the main event of the industry, with conferences that make us think about how to make our business grow," he concluded.
