NEW DEPUTY DIRECTOR SWORN IN FOR DGM HONDURAS

Msc Laura Ester Rivera Carbajal-Kriz, was sworn in as Deputy Director of the Merchant Marine; she took the promise of law in the presence of the Secretary of State for Governance, Justice and Decentralization, Tomás Vaquero and the Secretary General, Celso Alvarado.

Laura Ester Rivera Carbajal is Honduran, originally from Tegucigalpa, DC. In 1999, she completed postgraduate studies on the Implementation of International Maritime Conventions at the Flag State of the International Maritime Academy (IMO-IMA), in Trieste, Italy.

In 2002, he completed a Master's Degree (MSc) in Maritime Administration with focus on Shipping Administration and Port Logistics at the World Maritime University (WMU), in Malmö, Sweden.

In 2007 she graduated as Master in International Maritime Law (LL.M.), from the International Maritime Law Institute (IMO-IMLI), Malta and in 2015 she was appointed as Honorary Maritime Ambassador (IMO-HMA) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Graduated with a degree in Legal and Social Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), in 1997 and has been a Lawyer since 2005, she began working at the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine from June 1997 until March 2017, occupying different positions within the Maritime Authority.

She is currently reinstated as the Deputy Director General of the Merchant Marine of Honduras (DGMM).
