RED MAMLa AND COCATRAM SIGN A COOPERATION AGREEMENT

The Latin America Women in Maritime Association (Red MAMLa) and the Central American Commission of Maritime Transport (COCATRAM) signed a Mutual Cooperation Agreement with the objective of promoting the growth of the maritime sector, both public and private, at national and regional levels.

The agreement was signed yesterday, January 13, by Elvia Bustavino, President of Red MAMLa and Otto Noack, Executive Director of COCATRAM, who intervened on behalf of Vice Minister Saúl Antonio Castelar Contreras, Protempore President of the Commission, during a meeting, held at the Panama Maritime Authority, Panama City, Panama.

Among the purposes of the Agreement are the following:

  • Promote collaboration in matters of mutual interest, through joint initiatives, allowing the members of both entities to participate and interact in individual or collective activities.
  • Support in conferences and events, through the promotion of these in their respective digital platforms, as well as in the identification and contact of speakers for workshops and/or conferences and the exoneration of registration costs considering two observers representing each association to attend the conferences or annual meetings of each one.
  • Providing mutual support in the development of joint projects on Maritime and Port issues, including mutual technical advice, exchange of knowledge from research and publications, and dissemination of project results to respective audiences.
  • Coordinate efforts to promote the training of members of both entities in Maritime and Port matters.

This Agreement is valid for a period of three years, and will be implemented based on the best efforts of the parties in the creation and development of joint cooperation programs and projects.
